Mark F. Pautler D.V.M.

Veterinarian

Dr. Mark Pautler founded Brownstown Animal Hospital in 1991. He renovated an 1850’s era building that was originally a home and store. A 1987 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Veterinary Medicine, he is a native of Lancaster County. Dr. Pautler and his wife Cynthia have three children, Emily, Madeleine and Christopher.

Dr. Pautler enjoys the personal interaction with his clients and their pets that solo practice allows. His hobbies include caring for his Cavapoo Bella, music and spending time with his family.

Veterinary Assistant, Office Manager

Jess’s passion for animals started at a young age. After graduating from high school, she decided that a career path helping furry friends would be very rewarding. Jess graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Lancaster County Career and Technology Center. She got her clinical experience through BAH and became an employee in June of 2010. Since becoming a mom in 2022, Jess continues to handle the ordering/inventory of supplies, medication, and prescription pet food for the hospital. She has three Cats: Cici, Clarence and Jasper and two Russian Tortoises, Filburt and Franklin. Jess lives with her fiancé Mike and son Vinny in Lancaster County. In her spare time, Jess enjoys taking hip hop and tap classes at a local dance studio.

Veterinary Technician

April graduated from Warwick High school in 2001 & I has been working for Brownstown Animal Hospital ever since. She and her husband Michael enjoy spending time with their family by going fishing, camping & taking advantage of any bit of sunshine to be on their boat. April has four beautiful children, a dog, Rocky-Hound mix, a cat, Romeo-Bengal, and a tortoise named Zuma. Taking care of animals & helping in rescue has always been part of what she loves to do.

Ella

Veterinary Assistant

Ella started working at BAH in September of 2022. After graduating from Cocalico High School, she began her studies at Lancaster County Career and Technology Center. Ella graduated from their Veterinary Assistant program in May of 2022. Motivated by her love of animals, Ella is currently continuing her education. She is now pursuing a Veterinarian Technician degree at Penn Foster college. At home she has three dogs: Great-Danes Merced and Samson and a Cane Corso named Grumpy. In her free time Ella loves to draw, listen to music, read, and play with her dogs.

Andrea

Veterinary Technician

Andrea started working at BAH in December of 2021 after moving from Pottstown to Lancaster. She graduated from Harcum College with an Associate’s Degree in Science for the Veterinary field. Andrea has two incredible sons, Spencer, and Riley. She is also a mom to two amazing Pitbull’s, Vegas and Willow. She also has five crazy cats: Percy, Penny, Missy, Callie and Yoshi. In her free time, Andrea loves to spend time in nature, hiking, biking or gardening while also jamming out to music. Andrea has always loved animals and strives to be a voice and advocate for them.

Veterinary Assistant

Sarah began working at BAH in July of 2022. She graduated from Marietta Senior High School in 2015 and then attended Ohio University, where she obtained a degree in Economics and Political Science. After working in the Economics field for several years, Sarah started working as a veterinary assistant and fell in love with the veterinary medicine field. She is now pursuing her Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster. Sarah has always loved animals and has a special place in her heart for dogs. She and her husband have three dogs: Bean-Great Pyrenees mix, Reyka-Vizsla mix, and Wasabi-Golden Doodle. In her spare time Sarah helps train service dogs as a volunteer with Keystone Assistance Dogs. Sarah also enjoys traveling, playing board games, photography, and hiking with her dogs.

Chloe

Veterinary Assistant

Chloe graduated from Wilson High School and began working at BAH in November of 2022. Motivated by her interest in animals, Chloe pursued an internship at Larkin Veterinary Center during her senior year of High School. She is now pursuing a Veterinarian Technician degree at Penn Foster college. She has a German Shepherd mix name Harold and hopes to adopt another dog in the future. In her free time, Chloe enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Amy

Veterinary Assistant

Amy began her career in the Veterinary Assistant program at LCCTC. After a year, she moved onto LCCT’s Veterinary Technician program. Amy started working at BAH in August of 2021. On the weekends, Amy volunteers at a local cat shelter where she takes part in medical care and socializing. She also fosters cats until they can find their forever home. In her free time Amy loves to play video games and D&D. Amy has three beloved cats named Festus, Tabbs, and Ralsei as well as two dogs named Sable, a Terrier mix and Bear, Pitbull and German Shepherd mix.
